DESTIGER Privacy Policy
Effective Date: October 1, 2026
DESTIGER values your privacy and complies with applicable data protection laws. This Privacy Policy explains what information we process when you use our service, why we process it, and how you can contact us.
1. Data Controller (Operator) Information
- Operator/Company: MERPTEK
- Contact Email: [email protected]
- Privacy Officer: PARK JEONGIN (MERPTEK) · Contact: [email protected]
2. Information We Process
(1) Information You Enter
- Date of birth
- Birth time (optional)
- Sex (gender)
- Calendar type: solar or lunar (for lunar dates, whether it is a leap month)
Important: The information above is used only to generate your saju/compatibility results and for the input-memory feature described in (3) below. We do not collect any account or login information because the service can be used without registration or sign-in. When you use the compatibility feature, the same information about the other person is also entered.
(2) Information That May Be Collected Automatically (Technical Data)
In the course of operating the service, traffic analytics (e.g., Vercel Web Analytics), and ad delivery, the following information may be automatically generated and collected (or generated and processed):
- Access logs (e.g., access time)
- IP address (may be processed for purposes such as security/logging and ad delivery and measurement)
- Browser/device information (User-Agent)
- Cookies/ad identifiers (primarily related to advertising services)
- Technical metadata for traffic measurement, such as page URL/path and referrer (traffic source)
This information may be processed mainly for security (prevention of fraudulent use), error handling, analysis of service usage (traffic/pageview statistics) and service improvement, and ad delivery and performance measurement.
DESTIGER also takes necessary measures (e.g., masking or removing such data before it is sent) to prevent sensitive information or personally identifiable information contained in URLs, query parameters, custom events, and the like from being sent to analytics or advertising services. Accordingly, query parameters containing the information you entered are removed from page addresses before they are sent to Vercel Web Analytics. However, the scripts of the advertising services (Google AdSense and Google Ad Manager) may read the address (URL) of the page you are viewing directly and send it to Google when requesting ads. As a result, on pages that contain the information you entered, such as result pages, an address containing that information in encoded form (see (4) below) may be sent to Google.
(3) Information Stored on Your Device (Browser)
The date of birth, birth time (or whether you selected "time unknown"), sex, and calendar type (including whether it is a leap month) that you enter to view a saju or fortune result are saved in your browser storage (localStorage) so that you do not have to enter them again next time. Only the most recent entry is saved; information about the other person entered for compatibility is not saved.
This saved data stays only on your device and is not sent to our servers (however, when you view a result using the saved information, that information is sent as part of the result page address, as described in (4) below). You can delete the saved information by pressing the "Forget" button shown on the input screen, or by deleting cookies and site data for this site in your browser settings.
(4) Result Page Addresses (URLs) and Shared Links
The addresses (URLs) of saju, compatibility, and fortune result pages and similar pages contain the information you entered (date of birth, birth time, sex, and calendar type, and, for compatibility, the same information about the other person) in encoded form. This encoding is not encryption, so anyone who has the address can see the information you entered. Links sent with the result-sharing feature contain the same information; even if the date of birth is not shown on the screen of the person who receives the link, it is still contained in the link address.
Result page addresses are sent to the service servers (hosting: Vercel) to calculate and display results, and may remain in hosting access logs. For cases where they may be sent to advertising services, see (2) above.
Note: Please share result links only with people you trust.
3. Purposes of Processing
DESTIGER processes information only for the following purposes:
- Generating and displaying saju/compatibility results
- Making it easier to enter information next time (saving your most recent input on your device)
- Improving service quality (error checking, stability) and responding to security issues
- Analyzing service usage (traffic/pageview statistics) and improving the Service
- Providing and measuring advertisements (including Google AdSense and Google Ad Manager(GAM))
4. Retention and Deletion
The date of birth and birth time you enter are used only to calculate and display results, and are not stored in a separate database after results are provided. However, input saved on your device (browser) as described in Section 2(3) remains on that device until you delete it.
Where Vercel Web Analytics is used for traffic analytics, according to Vercel, visitor sessions are not stored permanently and are automatically discarded after 24 hours.
5. Third-Party Provision, Outsourcing of Processing, and Cross-Border Transfers
As a general rule, DESTIGER does not sell your personal information to third parties. However, DESTIGER may use external services (such as hosting, traffic analytics, and advertising) to provide the service, and in this process your personal information may be transferred overseas.
5-1. Legal Basis for Cross-Border Transfers and Consent/Refusal
Where required by applicable law, DESTIGER may obtain the consent of the data subject, or, to the extent permitted by law, may carry out cross-border transfers on grounds such as outsourcing of processing or storage for the performance of a contract.
You may refuse cross-border transfers by the methods described in "Details of Cross-Border Transfers" below. If you refuse, the provision of some parts of the service (such as hosting, analytics, or advertising features) may be restricted.
5-2. Details of Cross-Border Transfers (Including Outsourced Processing/Storage)
(A) Vercel (Hosting / Traffic Analytics)
- Processor (Recipient): Vercel Inc.
- Items: Access logs (for result pages, these may include the information you entered, encoded in the address; see Section 2(4)) and technical information generated when you use the service (information needed for traffic measurement, such as page URL/path, referrer, and device/browser information)
- Timing/Method of Transfer: May be transmitted over the network when you access or use the service, and used for hosting and traffic analytics processing
- Purpose of Use: Hosting and operating the service; analysis of aggregated traffic and usage (page views, traffic sources, etc.)
- Retention/Use Period: Processed to the extent necessary to provide the service; according to Vercel, visitor sessions are not stored permanently and are automatically discarded after 24 hours
- How to Refuse (Method/Procedure) and Effect of Refusal: This cross-border transfer (hosting/delivery and service usage analytics) is essential to providing the service, so it cannot be refused separately while you continue to use the service. If you do not want this transfer, you may stop using the service or contact us at [email protected].
(B) Google AdSense / Google Ad Manager(GAM) (Advertising)
- Processor (Recipient): Google LLC and partners of Google (in connection with ad delivery/measurement)
- Items: Cookies/ad identifiers, access/device information, the address (URL) of pages where ad scripts run (for result pages, this may include the information you entered in encoded form; see Section 2(2) and (4)), and ad performance measurement information such as ad impressions and clicks (may include technical information generated while you use the service)
- Timing/Method of Transfer: May be transmitted over the network and processed when ads are displayed or measured
- Purpose of Use: Serving ads, measuring ad performance (impressions, clicks, etc.), and, in some cases, providing interest-based (personalized) ads
- Retention/Use Period: For the period necessary to achieve the purposes of ad delivery and measurement, or to the extent permitted by applicable laws/policies
- How to Refuse (Method/Procedure) and Effect of Refusal: You can manage or turn off personalized ads in Google Ad Settings, and you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you refuse, the provision of personalized ads may be restricted, or some ad features or measurement accuracy may be reduced.
6. Your Rights and How to Exercise Them
You may exercise your rights regarding personal information in accordance with applicable laws.
- Contact/Requests: [email protected]
However, because DESTIGER does not store the input values (date of birth/birth time), the scope of access, correction, or deletion requests may be limited. You can delete input saved on your device yourself as described in Section 2(3).
7. Minors
As a general rule, DESTIGER does not provide services to users under the age of 14.
8. Security Measures
DESTIGER takes the following measures to protect personal information:
- Access control and permission management
- Encrypted transmission (HTTPS)
- System security checks and log monitoring (as needed)
9. Changes to This Policy
If this Privacy Policy is changed, we will give notice through an announcement on our website or a separate notice.
